With rain threatening Aliens took the field against Star CC perhaps expecting to be rained off pretty quickly.
Star batted first and Aliens created early chances with both Dennis and Damon grabbing a wicket each.
Dennis in particular kept creating chances but Aliens could hang on to the catches giving several of their batters extra lives.
Erik took some time to find his radar but managed to snag 3 wickets.
Despite the catching regular wickets were falling and Aliens were hoping to get Star out for 150ish. Their #8 Shah though batted very well playing sensibly then accelerating at the end making a 50 and getting Star to 208 which is about 50 more than they looked like getting.
We still thought we had a decent shot in the chase but couldn't really get going. Everytime a partnership was building Star managed to take a wicket and hold Aliens back. Some good early signs from long lost Will Barton and Erik didn't fully blossom and in the end despite some lower order contributions Aliens fell well short in the chase.
A better fielding effort would've made a big difference.
